It's our 40th Year Anniversary!
Maybe you already know our story, or maybe you don’t, but we would like to proudly share the history of our Family Business as we Celebrate our 40th Year Anniversary!
Century Commercial Service, originally named Century Lighting, was founded in 1984 by Keith & Traci Estes at their kitchen table in Milpitas, CA. Century Lighting started with humble beginnings of Keith selling commercial grade light bulbs door-to-door to Commercial Properties, Hotels, Restaurants, Municipalities and Retail Stores throughout California. Their first company vehicle was Traci’s station wagon. She would not only pick up and deliver materials to customers, but would also transport around their two babies at the same time, Sherra and Brent.
1985: Century Lighting was relocated to Auburn, CA where Keith and Traci decided to grow their business and family.
1987: Keith, along with his father Gene Estes, built the first of 4 office Buildings at the Auburn Airport Business Park. Their third child, Lorin, was then born during the completion of the new office building. This same building is the Main Office of where business is still being ran today.
1990’s: Century Lighting expanded into a premier Lighting Contractor performing T12 to T8 Lighting Conversions.
2005: Century Lighting directed 100% focus on becoming a premier Lighting Maintenance Service Provider for commercial property managers.
2006: Century Lighting expanded their services to the greater Bay Area and Central Valley Regions.
2012: Marked the year of the first name change from Century Lighting to Century Lighting & Electric with the launch of the Electrical Service Department.
2013: Century Lighting & Electric launched their Energy Efficiency Projects Department, focusing on LED Lighting Upgrades, Controls & EV Charging Stations.
2016-2018: Keith built two more additional buildings to complete Century Business Park.
2017: Century Lighting & Electric’s name changed to Century Commercial Service, offering two more additional Service Departments: Plumbing & Mechanical. Plumbing was launched only in the Sacramento Region in mid-2017, but quickly grew to service the Greater Bay Area & Silicon Valley Regions by 2018.
2020 was a year that we all remember with the onslaught of COVID. In April of 2020, the CCS Mechanical Department was successfully launched.
